April 2022The trees are in their fourth Summer and you can see a range in their growth. Some of the factors that affect this are how much direct sun they get, if they're surrounded by surfaces that reflect heat, how much water they get and the composition of the soil.
We appreciate the many volunteers who help care for the trees. Each uses tools and techniques that work for them -- from bringing water in gallon containers by wagon, to using a funnel to pour water into the Gator bag, to measuring the soil's moisture to determine when it's time to water. These volunteers and residents who live along Zion are helping to maintain a valuable asset in our community. If you'd like to learn about a similar project to add trees to our community, visit 500 Trees - Allied Gardens East If you would like to assist with this or other AGGCC Projects, please fill out the volunteer form and an AGGCC Board Member will be in touch. |
